Besides the exhibition there will also be two talks with artist Liat Segal and scientists Jennifer Wadsworth on 08.06. at the opening of the exhibition and on Sunday 11.06.2023 at 15:00 with artist Rohini Devasher and scientist Omar W. Nasim. You are also most cordially invited to join Rohini Devashers solar ecplise Shadow Walkers Listening Sessions (08.06.2023, 21:00, 11.06.2023 18:30, 21.06.2023, 21:00)

Based on the history of the Semper Observatory «Data Alchemy: Observing Patterns from Galileo to Artificial Intelligence» explores the human fascination about the creation of meaning out of patterns like the constellations of stars and planets and, today, from all kinds of extracted data. Diverse methods of artificial intelligence algorithms and applications help us recognize and “see” these patterns, often used for predictions and prognostics. In this field, where deep learning and artificial neural networks are often referred to as black boxes, one also talks of “Data Alchemy”.
